What's the difference between floating and glue-down installation?
Floating floors click together over an underlay and aren’t fixed to the subfloor, which suits most homes and is quicker to install. Glue-down is fixed directly to the subfloor, which can suit larger areas or particular timber types. We’ll recommend what fits your space.
Can I install timber flooring over my existing floor?
Often, yes, as long as the existing surface is flat, stable and dry. We check the subfloor during the quote and let you know if any prep work is needed first.
Do I need to move out of the house during installation?
Usually not. Most jobs are done room by room, so you can keep living in the rest of the house. We'll talk you through what to expect for your specific job.
How do I look after my new timber floor?
Regular sweeping or vacuuming, a damp (not wet) mop, and felt pads under furniture go a long way. We’ll run you through care tips specific to the timber we install for you.
